More FCC Images Detail T-Mobile’s AirTV Mini-Like Streaming Device

New images suggest T-Mobile’s upcoming streaming device will bear a close resemblance to the AirTV Mini HDMI dongle DISH currently offers. We’ve already seen images of a remote control intended for T-Mobile’s TVision-focused device, but until now, pics of the dongle itself have remained elusive. Thanks to an FCC listing for manufacturer SEI Robotics, we have our first glimpses of an HDMI dongle housed in a rounded rectangular housing.

It’s not hard to see the resemblance between this device and the AirTV Mini. That connection is further cemented due to the fact the FCC listing for T-Mobile’s dongle includes the AirTV Mini’s user manual for reference. They might not be exact copies of each other, however, as rumors point to T-Mobile’s version leveraging Google’s Android TV platform and sporting its own remote control.

So far, we haven’t heard anything official from T-Mobile itself about pricing, release date, or other details, but it seems highly likely the mobile carrier is working to position its TVision as a viable cable alternative on a larger scale. To recap, the service offers more than 150 channels, a 400-hour DVR, and access to premium add-ons. Right now, TVision Home starts at $90 per month. We’ll continue to monitor T-Mobile’s streaming service ambitions and we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
