DIRECTV STREAM is back with more additions to its more affordable genre packs. This time, the MySports Extra, MyNews, and MyEntertainment packs are all getting new channels.

MLB Network Strike Zone on MySports Extra
It’s the first Wednesday of the new MLB season, so DIRECTV has just added the popular MLB Strike Zone to its MySports Extra companion to MySports from DIRECTV. Every Wednesday and Friday night during the MLB regular season, MLB Network Strike Zone takes viewers on a high-speed trip around every game, offering live look-ins and season-to-date updates, including current standings, stats, and league commentary and analysis. The commercial-free feature is a favorite of fantasy leaguers and will not add any extra costs to the usual $12.99 MySports Extra subscription. MySports Extra is home to other key sports programming services including NFL Red Zone, cricket favorite Willow TV, and the MotorTrend racing channel, among others.
C-SPAN, C-SPAN2 on MyNews
As expected, C-SPAN and its companion C-SPAN2 officially go live to DIRECTV’s MyNews customers today. C-SPAN’s mission is to provide its viewers with live, gavel-to-gavel proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, as well as other forums where public policy is discussed, debated and decided. C-SPAN doesn’t edit, comment, or analyze, but allows proceedings alone to present the different points of view. C-SPAN covers the House, and C-SPAN2 cover the Senate.
Ovation on MyEntertainment
Advocating for the arts continues to be a part of Ovation’s DNA, and its signature STAND FOR THE ARTS coalition of more than 150 arts organizations, cultural institutions, and encouragement for awareness and action on behalf of the arts has helped Ovation to now earn a new audience of DIRECTV’s MyEntertainment customers. Ovation officially launches within MyEntertainment today.
DIRECTV STREAM launched the MySports pack in January, followed by three more genre-specific packages. Here’s what each package offers:
- MyEntertainment ($34.99/month): A haven for movie and TV buffs, this pack includes over 40 channels like A&E, Bravo, Discovery, E!, Food Network, FX, Freeform, FYI, HGTV, Lifetime, Oxygen, Syfy, The HISTORY Channel, TLC, and Vice TV. It bundles Disney+ and Hulu Basic, with Max Basic with Ads slated to join soon at no extra cost—perfect for drama, reality, and lifestyle fans seeking variety without excess.
- MyNews ($39.99/month): Targeting the information-hungry, this pack delivers over 10 national news channels—CNN, CNBC, Fox News Channel, MSNBC—plus select local affiliates where available. It’s a streamlined option for staying abreast of U.S. and global events without sports or entertainment clutter.
- MiEspañol ($34.99/month): With over 60 Spanish-language channels, including ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, Nat Geo Mundo, Telemundo, and Univision, this pack celebrates Hispanic culture and sports. ViX Premium with Ads will soon be added free, making it a robust choice for bilingual households.
- MySports ($69.99/month): Launched in January and upgraded today with ESPN+, this sports-centric pack offers over 25 channels like ACC Network, ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, Golf Channel, SEC Network, TNT, and USA Network, plus major league and college conference feeds—ideal for die-hard fans craving live action.
