Max is Having Widespread Issues on Launch Day, But Fixes Are Coming

Today HBO Max became Max with a new app and a ton of new content. Now though many customers are reporting that they are unable to log in, have problems playing movies and shows, and more.

One of the main issues is that some customers who pay for Max through their TV providers are unable to log into the Max app.

Others are reporting the app the Max app keeps crashing on them.

Right now, issues seem to be widespread, with Roku, Apple TV, Android, and iOS customers all reporting issues.

Update a Max spokesperson sent us the following statement on these issues. “You must always anticipate issues on a tech rollout of this scale. We can share that only minor ones have emerged and were quickly remedied.”

With Max being an all-new service with a new app and what looks like a new backend issues should be expected. Warner Bros. Discovery has said they are reportedly working on fixing the issues as they come up, according to Variety.

If you are affected by the issues, they should be fixed soon. If your app is letting you log in but you are unable to play a program, try fully closing the app and relaunching it.

Now with Max, you will find 35,000 hours of movies and TV shows to enjoy. If you wanted to watch everything Max has to offer, you would need to watch Max nonstop for over 1,458 days or almost four years.

The problem is Max promises to add new content every month, which will likely mean you could never watch everything on Max with just one TV. Already a long list of new shows and movies have been announced for Max, including the new Avatar movie coming to Max in a few weeks.
