Back in December, it was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery was testing 24/7 linear channels on Max, which would mirror programming found on traditional HBO linear channels. At the time, the lineup of new channels that ad-free Max subscribers were treated to included:

- HBO and HBO 2: Presenting a mix of new premieres, current hits, and fan favorites, mirroring the programming of the traditional HBO linear channels.

The wide release of live channels coincides with a shift of more streaming services offering live channels to give viewers an option to watch curated content similar to traditional cable networks.
