Now you can see great performers including Benedict Cumberbatch, James Corden and Tom Hiddleston star in classic productions like Hamlet, and Frankenstein, all for free without even leaving your home let alone making a trip to the UK. Starting April 2, you can watch on the NT’s YouTube channel under the National Theatre at Home banner. A new show will be up every Thursday at 7pm GMT/2pm EST and available to watch free for seven days. In addition, you can access bonus footage like cast Q&A’s.
“We have delved into the National Theatre Live archive and curated a programme that’s varied from comedy to new dramas to classics so there is something for everyone to enjoy from their own homes,” said Lisa Burger, Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive.
The series kicks off with Richard Bean’s One Man Two Guvnors starring James Corden, something he considers a “high point” in his career.
Here is the line up for April, with more to come in May:
April 2 ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ by Richard Bean, starring James Corden.
April 9 ‘Jane Eyre’, adapted by Sally Cookson.
April 16 ‘Treasure Island’, adapted by Bryony Lavery.
April 23 ‘Twelfth Night’ by William Shakespeare, starring Tamsin Greig.
