Locast announced today a program that will give free, uninterrupted access to its users in western states who have been impacted by the recent wildfires, rather than interrupting coverage to ask for a $5 donation.

To take part, Locast users can submit a request via email to admin@locast.org to waive a one-time voluntary contribution. This includes customers around Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Denver.

“Locast is here for you. If you have lost your home or are just going through tough times, please send us an email and we’ll give you a month of interruption-free service,” said Locast Founder and Chairman David Goodfriend. “As always, viewers using internet-connected devices can watch, for free, their important local news channels via the Locast app or at www.locast.org.”

Locast is a nonprofit local TV streaming service that offers access to local broadcast TV, including coverage of major events like the wildfires, for free in 23 U.S. cities and reaching more than 145 million viewers nationwide. Aside from requesting a donation request waiver, viewers can watch Locast without interruptions by making a voluntary $5 per month donation.
