Law&Crime will be giving a unique spin to its coverage of the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial. The company will air AI-generated recreations of the trial on its YouTube channel.
Combs is facing federal charges for sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, with allegations from multiple accusers who claim the music mogul has been abusing alleged victims for decades. The allegation started when Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie, spoke out against Combs. Many others followed. Several are expected to testify. If convicted, Combs will have a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Because cameras aren’t allowed to be in the room for federal trials, Law&Crime will use court transcripts and AI characters to bring the words of witnesses, investigators, and others in the room to life, “ensuring viewers get a factual, real-time understanding of what’s unfolding in the courtroom.”
“Since the public can’t see or hear what’s happening in federal court firsthand, we’re using cutting-edge AI tools to bring these important proceedings to life, based entirely on official transcripts,” said Law&Crime President Rachel Stockman. “This is a pivotal moment in both popular culture and justice, and our goal is to provide accurate, transparent access to what’s actually being said in that courtroom.”
In addition to the recreations, Law&Crime will cover the case with The Rise & Fall of Diddy, the second installment of the network’s investigative podcast series that will be available exclusively on Wondery+ starting June 10.
