I Just Cut My Internet Bill in Half… Here Is How I Did It

Worried couple reading a letter sitting on a couch in the living room at homeCord cutting is a great way to save a ton of money, but to use many of the services you need Internet access; however, finding inexpensive Internet can be a challenge especially if you stayed with the provider you had TV with. They are never willing to negotiate with current subscribers. So here is how I get around that.

I find if I switch back and forth between Internet providers every year or two I can save a ton of money. Every time my contract ends, I switch back to the other provider.

Just this week I did just that because recently my DSL provider raised my rates to over $100 a month. (I am on a very fast package mostly for the upload speed because I use it for work.) I switched to my cable provider, and my bill is now just $44.99 a month. In a year or two when it starts to raise my rates I will change back.

You may think you have no other options, but you may have to do some extra research. For example, if you have AT&T Internet you could look at a reseller from a place such as Toast.net, which resells AT&T Internet without the data cap and with US customer service.

I know this may not work for everyone, but I am amazed at how many people have options but don’t look around and end up spending way more than they should. Hopefully this post has helped some readers save some money on their Internet.
