In The 2nd Quarter of 2019 Amazon Saw Sales Jump 20% to $63.4 Billion

amazon buildingToday Amazon announced their 2nd quarter 2019 earnings with a 20% jump in sales to $63.4 billion. Net income increased to $2.6 billion up from $2.5 billion of net income in the 2nd quarter of 2019. (These numbers do not include Prime day 2019.)

“Customers are responding to Prime’s move to one-day delivery — we’ve received a lot of positive feedback and seen accelerating sales growth,” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO. “Free one-day delivery is now available to Prime members on more than ten million items, and we’re just getting started. A big thank you to the team for continuing to make life easier for customers.”

Amazon once again pushed that they have 34 million active Fire TV users worldwide a number they announced a few months ago. “Fire TV now has more than 34 million active users worldwide and continues to be the #1 streaming media player family in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, and India.”

Amazon stock did drop as investors expected better earnings from Amazon in the second quarter of 2019. For now, we will have to wait and see if Amazon will announce any new Fire TV numbers after the 3rd quarter of 2019.
