Important Notice for Roku Users

ROKU-4-REMOTE-3QUARTER-USBRoku will be performing planned maintenance today, August 11, from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM PST. During this time, you will be able to access your Roku and use any Roku Channels you have installed but you will be unable to use other services such as activating new Roku devices, accessing the Roku Channel Store, and making purchases.

Roku has not released full details of what is being worked on, but you probably won’t notice any major change. Such maintenance is rare at Roku and it raises the question about a possible link to the new Rokus that have just been submitted to the FCC.

From the FCC filing we firmly believe one of these boxes will be a revamped Roku 1. (The Roku 1 is currently the oldest Roku box still for sale.) Beyond a revamped Roku 1, we really have no clue. I do not think we are going to see a Roku Stick because the new Roku Stick is only a few months old. It is possible we will see a new Roku 4 or Roku 5, but it looks as though Roku 4 features such as Find My Remote are coming to the Roku 2 and Roku 3.

For now we will have to wait and see what happens with the new Rokus.
