Pluto TV has consistently been a favorite service among Cord Cutters News readers because of its wide variety of channels, on-demand content, and the ability to start streaming without setting up an account. If you’re already a Pluto TV fan but looking for more free streaming options, we have five more recommendations.
The Roku Channel
The Roku Channel launched in 2017, as an ad-supported service with no subscriptions, fees or logins required to access content for those streaming on a Roku device. In 2018, Roku made its free streaming service available on other devices. The service has continued adding content, including live channels, on-demand titles, and original content. The Roku Channel now has over 300 channels and is available on most major devices, including Amazon Fire devices and smart TVs.
Sling Freestream
In 2023, Sling TV launched a free streaming service, called Sling Freestream. The service launched with over 210 channels and over 41,000 on-demand titles, and has only grown from there. There are now over 600 live streaming channels, including news, sports, and curated channels for specific titles. You don’t need to create an account, but if you do, you’ll get extra features to personalize your channel list.
Tubi
Tubi is a free streaming service owned by Fox since 2020. The service has a live TV lineup divided into all the typical categories, from comedy to classic TV. It’s also known for carrying cult classics and more offbeat titles, along with original content. Because it’s backed by Fox, Tubi was also able to stream the Super Bowl for free in 2025, helping to make it the most-streamed Super Bowl in history.
MyFree DIRECTV
DIRECTV launched its own free streaming service in late 2024. To watch, you’ll need to sign up with your email address (but will not need to enter payment information), download the DIRECTV app, then customize your account to find the content you like to watch. You’ll get 95+ free channels including sports, news, entertainment, and movies, along with an on-demand library.
Plex
Plex combines a free, ad-supported streaming service with a database of titles, allowing you to search and find out where a title is streaming and add it to your watchlist. Plex calls itself an “entertainment concierge,” allowing users to search for content, discover new content, get recommendations, build their own personal media library, and more.
