Hulu’s Hackathon Went Virtual This Year, Here are Some of the Highlights

Each year, Hulu holds a “Hackathon” where creators and interns can come together to develop new features to improve the overall Hulu experience for viewers. This was the 7th annual Hackathon and the first completely virtual version of the event with more than 130 “Hulugans” collaborating remotely over the course of 10 days.

The Hackathon is held to promote the development of “projects designed to better serve Hulu’s viewers, solve complex technological problems, and explore exciting new product possibilities.” Some of Hulu’s current features have stemmed from ideas hatched at the annual Hackathon throughout the years. Some of the new ideas at this year’s event are said to be “major contenders.”
