Hulu’s CEO Expects To Offer More Original Programming Now That Disney Owns Hulu

Hulu Pen15 StillDisney now has full control of Hulu and Hulu CEO is starting to open up about Disney’s plans for the service. Today Hulu CEO’s Randy Freer went on CNBC’s Squawk Box to talk about Hulu. During that interview, he was asked about Hulu original programming to which he announced that he expects to see more original shows and movies on Hulu now that Disney owns them.

“When you look at the capacity inside of the Walt Disney Company to create content, the IP that’s there, the access we’ll have with that is, you know, terrific. We are going to be able to invest more and invest more upstream and find the best stories and the best creators to make shows for the company,” Randy Freer said Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

Sadly that is all the information we got as Freer declined to say how much the company would be investing in Hulu’s original program or what Disney content Hulu would get access to. The good news is if you are a Hulu subscriber you should expect that in the years to come. The downside is that this content won’t be added anytime soon. It takes sometimes years for new shows to arrive on a service after they are approved.
