In the past few months, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the pricing of streaming services. That included Hulu and the company announced in a press release that they were changing things up to offer more content and more flexibility for viewers.
These are your options for a Hulu subscription:
- Hulu $5.99/month
- Hulu with No Ads $11.99/month
- Hulu + Live TV $44.99/month
Hulu offers a 7 day free trial for all subscriptions.
Back in August 2018, PlayStation Vue had a $5 price hike as they worked to bring more channels to viewers. PlayStation Vue has a few different plan options to choose from. These are your options when you sign up:
- Access $44.99/month
- Core $49.99/month
- Elite $59.99/month
- Ultra $79.99/month
PlayStation Vue offers a 5 day free trial on each package, except for Ultra.
Channel and Price Comparison
For many cord cutters, getting the best value for the money is an important part of choosing the right streaming service. To help you see what you’ll be getting for your money, here’s a price per channel breakdown of the live TV options from Hulu and PlayStation Vue.
- Hulu with Live has 67 channels for $44.99, coming in at 67 cents per channel
- PlayStation Vue Access has 49 channels for $44.99, coming in at 92 cents per channel
- PlayStation Vue Core has 76 channels for $49.99, coming in at 66 cents per channel
- PlayStation Vue Elite has 97 channels for $59.99, coming in at 62 cents per channel
- PlayStation Vue Ultra has 99 channels for $79.99, coming in at 81 cents per channel
Keep in mind that live streaming services will offer different local channels depending on your area, so the number of channels you get might vary slightly.
Both Hulu and PlayStation Vue have live and on-demand content available to stream. PlayStation Vue is set up to be more of a cable replacement, offering a guide that’s easy to flip through and plenty of variety in channels. Hulu has a stronger on-demand library, including Hulu Originals, perfect for catching up on episodes you’ve missed.
