Hulu Quietly Adds More Than 1,000 Shows from HGTV, Travel Channel, & Food Network

Hulu, over the last few years, has aggressively added to its catalog—from deals for networks to leave Netflix and come to Hulu such as Discover to movie deals with channels such as Epix.

Over the weekend Hulu quietly added more shows from Scripts Networks such as HGTV, The Travel Channel, and The Food Network. Shows include Chopped, Chopped Junior, Cupcake Wars, House Hunters, House Hunters International, Flip or Flop, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and Property Brothers. You will now find full seasons of the shows (yet not every season) on Hulu.

This is part of the recent deal Hulu struck with Scripps Networks, the parent company of HGTV, The Travel Channel, and The Food Network. Not only did this deal give Hulu’s new live TV beta service access to Scripps Networks but also seems to give traditional Hulu access to more of the back catalog of HGTV shows.

Cord Cutters News reached out to Hulu and they did let us know that more Scripps Networks shows will become available on Hulu this summer.

Hulu seems to have an aggressive plan to break out of its long-time third place standing behind Netflix and Amazon Prime. Gone are the days where Hulu would only give you a couple of episodes of its shows. Increasingly older back catalog episodes are being added to Hulu.
