Hulu Adds Downloading for Offline Viewing on Select Plans

Hulu Pen15 Still

Hulu has now added a download feature, allowing subscribers to download content and watch offline later. Hulu announced over a year ago that they were planning to add the feature, and subscribers have been waiting for the update ever since. Now, iOS users and soon Android users will finally have this option with the Hulu (No Ads) plan.

With the update, subscribers will be able to download thousands of shows and movies, including past seasons of favorite series and Hulu Originals. Downloaded content will be available whenever and wherever, even without an Internet connection.

To use the download feature, tap on the Downloads tab at the bottom of the screen to access your downloadable content. To find more shows and movies available to download, click on “See What’s Downloadable” and browse through the titles. Those shows and movies that are able to be downloaded will have a download icon on the details page.

Viewers can download up to 25 titles across 5 different devices and will have up to 30 days to watch their downloaded content. After beginning to watch, content will expire 2 days after starting playback. Content can then be renewed the next time you’re online, as long as it’s still available on Hulu.

iOS users will get the update today with an app update. Downloads for Android devices will be coming soon.
