Sports have made it to the top of the list of most popular live streaming genres. In total, viewers have watched 94,000 hours of live sports per day on Hulu.
A surprising amount of that was spent on mobile devices. Hulu viewers have been 3 times more likely to stream sports on their phones than any other genre of content. The mobile app has made it easy to keep up with favorite teams, and sports fans have been loving it.
Some of that time was spent watching the Winter Olympics, the Warriors win the NBA Championship, and the Capitals take the Stanley Cup – all of which were streamed live on Hulu.
The top teams Hulu viewers have watched are the Cleveland Cavs, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Wild, and New York Yankees. When it comes to college football, Texas clocked the most hours. The NBA has been the most watched sports league for Hulu in the past year.
