Hulu is Reportedly Now the Largest Live TV Streaming Service With 2.7 Million Subscribers

Hulu LogoA few months ago Disney announced that Hulu was the fastest growing live TV streaming service. Now a new report from MoffettNathanson supports that claim by reporting that Hulu recently added over 400,000 new subscribers and now has 2.7 million subscribers. This makes Hulu the largest live TV streaming service, jumping over Sling TV who just reported 2.69 million. According to this report, YouTube TV is now the 3rd largest subscription service with 1.6 million subscribers.

During the same period, Sling TV gained about 214,000 subscribers and now has over 2.69 million subscribers. This is up from the 2.47 million subscribers Sling TV had in the 2nd quarter of 2019. This was the first time ever that Sling TV gained more subscribers than Dish lost, as Dish lost just 66,000 subscribers.

Cord Cutters News first reported that Hulu would likely become the largest live TV streaming service back in August, and now it has become a reality according to this report.

With PlayStation Vue shutting down in January 2020 it will be interesting to see where its subscribers go. Over the next few months, we will likely see a fight for the roughly 500,000 PlayStation Vue subscribers. The question now is if they will shake up the live TV streaming world by picking one service in mass.
