Hulu is Losing More Content in Epix Deal Expiration

Hulu’s library is shrinking once again, this time due to a deal with Epix that’s coming to a close. The deal, which allowed Hulu to carry Paramount and MGM movies like Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, Interstellar, Selma, ended Wednesday, March 23. Now that the deal has expired, Hulu is losing hundreds of movies from those studios.

While Hulu has stepped up its game in terms of producing Originals, in the past, it’s served as a hub for content from other networks and studios. But the streamer is slowly seeing that content trickle away as more individual streaming services surface. Discovery recently pulled its content from Hulu in order to boost its new Discovery+ platform, upcoming Paramount movies are now set to head straight to Paramount+, and NBC will be reserving its shows, including The Voice, and Saturday Night Live, exclusively for Peacock starting this September.

As of now, Hulu is still able to house 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures, though HBO Max is infringing on some of those titles as well.
