Hulu Is Becoming More Personal…

Hulu_logoDo you love Hulu, but are you not sure what to watch next? Hulu wants to help you find something great or keep watching something you have already started.

To accomplish this Hulu is rolling out a new version of its recommendations system called Watchlist for everyone after recently being only available as a beta. Not only will the new Watchlist recommend new shows of seasons you have already watched, but it will also make recommendations based on what you have watched in the past.

Your Watchlist will be broken down into categories such as TV, movies, and videos, allowing you to find just what you want to find. You can add shows to your Watchlist to find later in addition to the auto suggestions and—even better—(unlike many services) you can remove shows you no longer want.

So not only will Hulu learn what you like from what you watch, but it will also learn what you like by what you remove from your Watchlist.

Whereas this may seem like a simple and small move on Hulu’s part to add a better recommendations service, it is a major in that it puts Hulu on par with Netflix and Amazon since many cord cutters list discovery as a major issue when looking for new content.

A better recommendation system could also mean a lot of new views for Hulu that could help Hulu get their hands on some much-needed ad revenue.
