Hulu is Coming to Alexa Devices This Fall

Today Hulu announced that you will soon be able to use your voice to control Hulu on Amazon Echo and Fire TV devices. By simply pairing a Fire TV and an Echo device, users will be able to ask Alexa to perform an array of actions on their TV including pause, rewind, fast-forward and start watching favorite titles and channels.

“This is an extremely exciting time in the world of digital voice assistants. Voice capabilities are exploding due, in large part, to leaders in the space like Amazon opening their doors to 3rd-party developers, creating endless voice-driven possibilities. We are particularly fired up about how these technologies will simplify TV viewing. That’s why we are very happy to announce today that, beginning this Fall, Hulu will be among the first 3rd-party entertainment services to support Amazon’s digital voice assistant, Alexa.” Said Richard Irving VP of Product for Hulu.

Here are some of the voice commands you will be able to use:

“Alexa, watch ESPN.”

“Alexa, go to Bravo.”

“Alexa, play The Handmaid’s Tale.”

“Alexa, play Full House.”

“Alexa, pause.”

“Alexa, play This is Us.”

“Alexa, go back 13 seconds.”

“Alexa, fast forward 2 minutes.”

“Alexa, go to the beginning.”

No exact date has been announced but Hulu says their new Alexa integration will be available in the coming weeks.
