In Season 1 of the Stephen king series, which premiered on Hulu last summer, we found Bill Skarsgard’s character in a cage, abandoned in Shawshank Prison. Season 2 will take on a new story, focusing on another of King’s famous characters, Annie Wilkes from Misery.
Here’s the synopsis for the season: “In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.”
While the story will change, many elements will stay the same as the creative team from Season 1 will be coming back.
“The basic idea is that it is an anthology in the sense that we’re going to tell a new story that gives you a different lens into Castle Rock and into Stephen King each season,” Thomason told Den of Geek last year. “The thing we’ve always been really excited about, in the same way that the Stephen King universe operates, is that each story will stand alone, but that we will be circling back to characters whose stories intersect with the new stories.”
Castle Rock Season 2 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 23 on Hulu. Season 1 is currently available on Hulu.
