With this deal, Hulu has agreed to offer a separate audio track that gives descriptions of the action and facial expressions on the screen when possible. Hulu also agreed to update their website and software to ensure people can use screen readers if they need them. This will make Hulu far more accessible to those with physical disabilities.
Netflix already offers a special audio track on most of its original titles and some other TV shows and movies. Netflix was one of the first major streaming services to offer a special audio track for those with physical disabilities.
Look for other services to slowly start to offer this feature to make their services accessible to reach more subscribers. No date has been set for when the changes will happen to help those with physical disabilities.
