Hulu Adds Live Feeds to Its Showtime Add-Ons

Hulu has for some time offered Showtime as an add-on for its streaming service. Both live TV subscribers and on-demand subscribers can add Showtime to their service. Hulu’s Showtime add-on has been one of the least expensive ways to get Showtime compared to buying it as a stand-alone service.

In the past when you used an app you only had access to the on-demand content from Showtime on Hulu. If you wanted a live feed, you needed to use the Hulu.com website.

Now that has all changed. Hulu has added the live feed of Showtime’s East and West Coast feeds to its Hulu apps on Apple TV, Xbox One, and Android/iOS. This means you will not only get the on-demand content but get access to it live whenever you want it.

You will need to be using the new Hulu app that started to roll out on the Apple TV and Xbox. Hulu has stated that Roku, Fire TV, and others will be getting access to the new app. No timeline has been announced, but Hulu subscribers who use the Fire TV or Roku should also someday get a live feed of Showtime.
