NBA All-Star Saturday has returned to Cleveland with an all-day lineup of events as the league celebrates its 75th anniversary. Cord cutters will be able to watch the 2022 NBA All-Stars practice, the first NBA x HBCU Classic, the excitement of the 2022 Skills Competition, every thrilling shot of the 3-Point Contest, and the soaring thunderous dunks of the Slam Dunk Contest.
NBA All-Star Practice Presented by AT&T
Fans will be able to tune in to watch 2022 NBA All-Stars practice before the All-Star game on Sunday. AT&T 5G Holovision technology will be used during the broadcast in which hologram Quentin Richardson will interview some of this year’s All-Stars.
NBA x HBCU Classic Presented by AT&T
For the first time, the NBA will be showcasing Historically Black College and Universities during All-Star weekend. The 2022 NBA x HBCU is part of the NBA’s effort to increase support and awareness for HBCU athletics and institutions. This year’s game will feature two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rivals taking the floor at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. The 8-12 Morgan State Bears look to pull off an upset against the 13-10 Howard Bisons.
State Farm All-Star Saturday Night
State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the 2022 Taco Bell Skills Challenge, MTN DEW 3-Point Contest, and AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, which will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
Taco Bell Skills Challenge (First Event)
Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokoumpo of the Milwaukebucks will headline the 2022 Taco Bell Skills Challenge, which will feature two of his brothers, an All-Cavs team, and a team of rookies. Below are the full lineup teams.

This year’s Skills Challenge has a new format, as 3 teams of 3 players will compete in a 4-round competition that will test their passing, shooting, and dribbling abilities. The first 3 rounds will feature all 3 teams and the 2 teams that acquire the most “Challenge Points” will advance to the Final Round to decide a winner. Teams will score Challenge Points by winning each of the first 3 rounds. The rounds will be broken down as follows:
- Round 1 – Team Shooting: Each player on each team will have 30 seconds to shoot from 5 different spots on the floor with their other 2 teammates rebounding. Players will be shooting anywhere from 10 to 30 feet, but cannot shoot the same shot consecutively, and the winner will be decided by adding each player’s individual score to determine the sum which will be the team’s score. The highest team score will win Round 1 and earn 100 Challenge Points.
- Round 2 – Team Passing: All players on each team will participate together in a 30-second obstacle course where they’ll have to complete passes into 3 oversized moving targets, which vary in distance and size. The team with the most total points will win Round 2 and earn 100 Challenge Points.
- Round 3 – Team Relay: Each player from each team will compete in a timed relay where each player must complete a course that will put 5 skills to the test. In order, players must do the following: 1) throw an outlet pass into a moving target from the baseline; 2) dribble down the court through 3 moving pylons; 3) make a short shot in the lane; 4) make a corner 3-pointer against an automated defender; and 5) dribble to the opposite goal and make a basket. The team to complete the relay the fastest will earn 200 Challenge Points.
- Final Round – Half-court Shot: The two teams with the highest scores from the first 3 rounds will compete in a contest to see who will make a half-court shot the quickest. All players from the remaining two teams will participate with Team 1 setting the time to beat with a maximum clock of 90 seconds. If there is a tie then both teams will repeat the Final Round until a winner is determined.
MTN DEW 3-Point Contest (Second Event)
The 2022 MTN Dew 3-Point Contest will have a first-time champion as 8 of the NBA’s most skilled shooters compete to determine who is the 3-point king. The 8-player field will be competing in a 2-round, timed shooting competition with a maximum score of 40 points. The following players will be competing at this year’s contest:

AT&T Slam Dunk Contest (Third Event)
This year’s rim-rattling dunk contest will 4 NBA players. Each competitor will get two dunks in the first round and the two players with the highest combined score will advance to the final round. The two finalists will duel it out with 2 dunks each and the dunker with the highest combined score will be crowned the 2022 AT&T Slam Dunk champion. The following players will be taking flight in this year’s contest:
