Move over, The Bold and The Beautiful and Days of Our Lives, there’s a new daytime soap opera on TV. “Beyond the Gates” premiered on CBS this month and is the first new soap in 26 years.
The series takes place in a lush suburb of Maryland, right outside of D.C., in one of the most affluent African American counties in the country. The Dupree family is at the center of the storylines. The family has money and power, but is also hiding secrets and scandals from their neighbors and enemies. Drama surrounds the exclusive neighborhood and all of its residents.
New episodes of “Beyond the Gates” air daily at 2:00 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. If you get behind, previous episodes are available to stream on Paramount+.
