Netflix gave us Tiger King at the height of a global pandemic, and we all became obsessed with the eccentric, real life characters in the documentary. Now, Peacock will release Joe vs Carole right when we need it most again. The limited series stars SNL‘s Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin with John Cameron Mitchell playing the former G.W. Zoo operator Joe Exotic. The real Joe is currently in prison for his murder-for-hire plot against arch rival Carole, among other charges.

About ‘Joe vs Carole’

JOE vs CAROLE is a scripted adaptation of the 2019 Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic: Tiger King,” hosted and reported by Robert Moor. The limited series will center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous.
