The 87th Annual Heisman Trophy Ceremony will take place this weekend to recognize the most outstanding player in college football. This year’s ceremony will take place at the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Appel Room in New York City for the first time in history.
For the 28th consecutive year, Chris Fowler will host the one-hour telecast and he will be joined by reporters Holly Rowe and Marty Smith. They will be joined by fellow ESPN on-air talent and former Heisman winners Robert Griffin III (2011), Desmond Howard (1991), and Tim Tebow (2007).
Three quarterbacks and a defensive end will make up the four finalists who will be in attendance in New York City. Since 2000, 17 QBs have won the Heisman, this year, Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh), C.J. Stroud (Ohio State), and Bryce Young (Alabama) are looking to have their name called to join that list. Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan) is looking to become the third defensive player to win the award since 1961 and the first since fellow Michigan Wolverine Charles Woodson won in 1997.
