How to Watch HBO on Roku, Apple TV, & Fire TV

Every time we ask our readers which shows they’re binge watching, Game of Thrones is at the top of the list. With the new season starting on April 14, there’s no better time to share some tips about how to watch HBO on your streaming devices.

HBO Now

Let’s start with HBO’s own standalone streaming service. You can subscribe to HBO Now through the HBO website. HBO Now works will all major devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, and Android and iOS devices.

HBO Now costs $14.99/month after a 7 day free trial.

DIRECTV NOW

When DIRECTV NOW changed their plans and pricing, they took away some channels and brought a few new ones in. Part of that was making HBO, HBO Family, and HBO Latino to everyone who subscribes to the basic DIRECTV NOW Plus plan.

The DIRECTV NOW Plus plan costs $50/month.

HBO As An Add-On

If you’re already using a streaming service that isn’t DIRECTV NOW, you’ll likely find the option off adding premium channel add-ons to your monthly subscription.  That sais, not all streaming services have an HBO add-on as an option.

Here’s what you’ll pay for those that do have the option.

Hulu: $14.99/month for the HBO add-on channel.

PlayStation Vue: $15/month to add the standalone channel to any package. HBO also comes with the Ultra package for no additional cost.

Amazon Prime Video: $14.99/month to subscribe to HBO through Amazon Prime Video Channels.

How will you be watching when the new season starts? If you haven’t started yet, you still have time to catch up on all 67 previous episodes!
