Netflix is premiering a new documentary all about the strange tale of New York’s former Pure Food and Wine restaurateur Sarma Melngailis, whose vegan restaurant was a hot spot for celebrities and ahead of its time. But there’s more to the story than just business.
The four-part documentary (from the producers of Fyre and Tiger King) chronicles the scandals that went on between Sarma and her boyfriend, who was pocketing restaurant money and promised to make her beloved dog immortal.
