How To Save Money On Your Internet Only Plan

Internet

Comcast-e1396980588440One of the biggest issues for cord cutters is finding affordable internet. Cable companies often do their best to hide their best internet only plans and when you do find them they are often only for new customers. (Note we know cable companies try to make internet plus TV look cheaper typically it is not really cheaper. If you want to learn why internet only is typically cheaper please click HERE.)

There are ways to get save money on your internet but you need to put a little work into it. Here is our best tip to get cheap internet.

Our best tip is to change your service provider every time your contract ends. All of our other tips can help a little but nothing is better than the new customer pricing ISPs offer. You can argue and beg but I personally find the best deals come from switching providers every year.

(Note you must be gone for a full year with no service from the ISP for them to treat you as a new customer. We have never had a issue getting the promotional rates after being gone a year.)

Now we know not everyone has a second ISP that services where they live. We also know switching may mean slightly slower speeds but I cut cable with only a 10 down DSL connection and we were able to stream all the content we wanted with only 10 down. We now have 20 down and find it more than enough for a house full of devices and multiple streams. So do not worry if you find yourself unable to find 100 down service as you may be surprised how well a slower speed will stream services like Netflix.

Now make sure to call around and know what the other services are charging before you cancel. Sometimes your current ISP will match another ISP rates if you say you are going to cancel to switch over there.

You can also save a lot of money by not paying the cable modem rental fee. Click HERE to find out how to avoid the rental fee

I hope this tip helps you save like it has helped me save!
