With the new pricing, the price on Broadcast TV go up from $10 a month to $14.95 a month. The Basic TV package will be increasing from $30 a month to $35 a month. Without adding in additional fees and hidden charges, the cost of Comcast’s Basic TV package will be $49.95. The Basic package includes Comcast’s Limited Basic channels (10+ channels including local broadcast stations, local government channels, and education channels), Streampix, high definition programming and 20 hours DVR Service.
Looking for a better deal? These are four streaming services that offer more channels for less money.
Sling TV: You can choose Sling Orange or Sling Blue for $25/month, or a combination for $40/month, all cheaper than Comcast Basic. With the combo package, you’ll get over 45 channels, including sports, news, and entertainment. Pair Sling TV with an antenna for locals and you’ll have a solid lineup of channels to choose from.
Philo: At just $20/month, Philo is an affordable service with nearly 60 channels. Stream Philo live or on-demand and use the included Cloud DVR feature to store unlimited content for up to 30 days.
Frndly TV: If you can use an antenna for your local channels and you only need a streaming service for a few extras, Frndly TV might be a good option. The family friendly service has 13 channels including Hallmark and The Weather Channel, for $5.99/month.
Hulu: Not looking for live TV? If you’re only interested in on-demand content, Hulu might be the right service for you. A basic Hulu subscription costs $5.99/month or choose an ad free experience for $11.99/month. Many episodes are available the day after airing alongside past seasons and a library of movies.
