#1 Gift Card Savings
My family, like yours, probably eats out more often than we should; however, we found a great way to save some money when we eat out when we found out that Amazon Daily Deals often includes gift cards for less than face value.
Every day is different and some days there are no gift cards for sale on Amazon, but we have picked up a $50 Applebee’s gift card for $40 and a $25 BJ Restaurant card for $20. As I type this Amazon has a countdown to a deal on a $25 TGI Fridays gift card. We have also seen gift cards for Hotels.com and IHOP.

#2 Ditch Your Cell Phone Provider
I had been a Verizon subscriber since they became Verizon. Recently our bill kept going up as my wife went over her 2 GB plan, and they wouldn’t let us change or I would lose my unlimited data.
So we ditched Verizon and our bill went down by $70 a month when we switched to a prepaid service that still uses the Verizon network and has far better customer service.

#3 Stop Renting Your Modem!
Modems are one of the greatest profit margins for Internet providers with some providers charging $12 a month. After taxes you can easily end up paying $144 a year or $432 over 3 years to rent a modem. The sad truth is that modem probably costs $50 to $100 for your cable company.

#4 Saving Money on Heating & Cooling
Saving money on heating was a big task when I was growing up in Michigan. Now we live in Texas and we work just as hard to save money on cooling the house.
At my last house I put in socket sealers on all my wall outlets and switches on the inside of my house. I saw a noticeable change in my heating bill even though the next month was a colder month.
DUCK Socket Sealers is what we used and is a project anyone can do that will save money on heating and cooling. If you think about it sockets are just a big hole in your wall.
