How to Cut the Cord with PlayStation Vue

Playstation Vue LogoPlayStation Vue has been making some updates to the way subscribers can enjoy content on it’s platform. Here’s how you can use PlayStation Vue to cut the cord and still get the content you love to watch.

What is PlayStation Vue?

PlayStation Vue is Sony’s content streaming service. You don’t need a PlayStation game console to subscribe or watch content (although the streaming service is compatible with PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.)

There are four plans to choose from, each offering live TV channels including local news and sports.

PlayStation Vue also has a few add-on and standalone channels to choose from. Get the Sports Pack for an extra $10/month and premium channels starting at an extra $10.99/month.

How Can I Watch?

PlayStation Vue works with the following devices:

What Channels Will I Get?

Within 30 days of signing up, be sure to sign in at your home zip code. That’s how you’ll get access to your live local channels. After signing in at your zip code, you’ll be able to watch those local channels wherever you’re at when you sign into your PlayStation Vue account.

These are all of the channels available with the Ultra package, the most comprehensive of the four options.

Let’s Talk Sports

In addition to channels like the NFL Network, ESPN, and FS1 & FS2 being available in channel packages and the Sports Add-On with even more channels, PlayStation Vue wants to make an even better experience for sports fans. On the PS4 and Apple TV, you can use Multi-View to watch three channels on the same screen so you’ll catch all the action.

Can I Record Content?

Recently, PlayStation Vue updated their DVR and interface, creating a more user friendly experience. Now on the Apple TV, Fire TV, and Android TV PlayStation Vue app, you will find a new area in your DVR section to show you what is newly recorded to your DVR. You will also find a new upcoming section to show you what will be recorded over the next week. This change makes the PlayStation Vue DVR much more like a traditional DVR compared to the older interface.

Can I Watch on Multiple Devices?

Yes. You can watch on up to five devices simultaneously inside your house with PlayStation Vue. Outside of your house, there are some additional limitations do apply outside of your home network.

What About User Profiles?

Create up to 10 unique profiles for you and your family. Everyone can enjoy unique recommendations based on what they watch, and save cloud DVR recordings to their personal profile.
