Women Using LaptopHate slow WiFi when you are flying? Today Gogo Air one of the largest providers of the internet to major airlines including Delta and American announced plans to upgrade its network to 5G. Gogo will build their 5G network on its existing infrastructure by updating more than 250 towers to offer 5G internet to carriers like Delta and American as you fly.

“Today Gogo has announced next steps for our air-to-ground network in North America and will build a 5G network for aviation. The new air-to-ground (ATG) network will be designed for use on business aviation aircraft, commercial regional jets and smaller mainline jets operating within the contiguous United States and Canada.”

Gogo says they plan to have its 5G network live in 2021 and will continue to operate its 3G and 4G networks as backup networks in the United States and in Canada. This news comes as Gogo recently upgraded their networks to offer faster internet speed and even allow streaming from services like Netflix as you fly. Now, this new Gogo 5G network promises even faster speeds to flyers on a growing number of airlines.
