Here’s What Cord Cutters Should Expect From Google’s Big Event Tomorrow

google smart devicesTomorrow, October 15, Google will be holding a product event to announce new products hitting the market soon. Here’s what we can expect to see during that event.

New Nest products will almost certainly be showcased at the event. The Nest hub Max was introduced this summer. Now, we’re expecting to see more products added to the lineup. There’s talk of a Nest Mini smart speaker being introduced, in direct competition with Amazon’s Echo Dot.

Some are also saying that the company might be giving Google WiFi an update to better fit with the Nest lineup. The newly revamped “Nest WiFi” will likely include a main router and beacons that can go around the home to improve internet connection. This product will also reportedly act as smart speakers, allowing users to give voice commands from anywhere in the home.

9to5Google reports that we’re likely to see a new PixelBook Go laptop at the Made by Google event. That report says that this product will focus on portability. About the design, 9to5Google says “Pixelbook Go will have a 16:9 aspect ratio 13.3-inch touch screen…and it will either be Full HD or 4K depending on the model you choose.”

It’s no secret that Google will also be sharing the new Pixel 4, which The Verge has dubbed “the most leaked phone ever.” With leaked photos and details all over the internet, we know what the Pixel 4 will look like and how the camera will compare with new iPhone models.

The Verge has photos of the new phones which show at least three colors, Oh So Orange, Just Black, and Clearly White. The phone will likely come in two sizes, the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL. A big iPhone-like camera square on the back of the models show a camera square featuring a dual camera. Leaked details also show that this phone could have a face unlock feature.

Other potential products include upgraded Pixel Buds, with a new design and additional features, and a smart watch after Google bought smartwatch technology from Fossil back in January.

Google will be streaming the event live on YouTube for anyone who wants to watch on Tuesday, October 15 at 10 am EST.
