Here Is Everything We Know about DIRECTV NOW’s DVR Add-Ons

For about a year now, AT&T has been promising an add-on that will give DIRECTV NOW users expanded DVR storage. Now not a week goes by that some reader asks about when DIRECTV NOW will roll out the 100 hours of DVR storage add-on. Today I want to address that question.

Recently AT&T has been very quiet about the add-ons but is still pushing the idea that they plan to launch more DIRECTV NOW add-ons to improve profitability. The DVR add-ons are reportedly the first in what will be several new add-ons users can purchase to improve their DIRECTV NOW experience.

According to reports, DIRECTV NOW plans to keep their 20 hours as a baseline for all subscribers. From there, you can add 30 hours to get 50 hours of storage or 100 hours to get 120 hours of storage. The add-ons will start at $5. Some have reported the 100 hours of extra storage will cost $10 a month, but as of today that has not been verified.

AT&T has set no date for the release of the DVR add-ons. Early reports said the DVR add-on would roll out sometime in the summer of 2018. Later that changed to the end of 2018, and now some time in 2019.

Some have reported that AT&T employees’ DIRECTV NOW accounts received an update to 100 hours of DVR storage a few months ago. So, AT&T is ready. The question now is when will they roll out the add-on.
