Today, HBO Max changed its name to simply Max. Along with a new name comes an expanded roster of 4K content now available on Max’s new ad-free tier. Max offers over eight times more 4k UHD streaming content totaling over 1,000 hours of films and series, adding more titles every month.

“We understand the value of offering our users a cinematic playback experience and to that end, we’ve implemented more advanced technology workflows that allow us to release more 4K content in a faster, more efficient way,” said Sudheer Sirivara, Global Technology Platform of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Max offers enhanced formats, like 60 fps content, to enrich the viewing experience with sharper images, richer colors, and “atmospheric” audio. Stream in 4K UHD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos starting this summer.

Max features an array of programming, from family-friendly content to Max Originals in addition to the DC Universe, WB Movies, documentaries, and lifestyle videos. The new Ultimate Ad-Free tier allows subscribers to stream on four devices simultaneously as well as allow up to 100 offline downloads.

With a massive content library and multiple streaming options, you can watch Game of Thrones on one device, while your kiddos watch Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings on another, and your pet can enjoy the Matrix franchise on another. Also available to stream are The Last of Us, The Dark Knight trilogy, Succession, The Undoing, The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Singin’ in the Rain, and thousands of other titles.

Max’s Ultimate Ad-Free tier is $199.99 per year or $19.99 for a monthly subscription. Current HBO Max members will continue to have access to their current plan’s specific features for no more than six months after Max Ultimate launches.
