Here is everything new on Android TV:
The first big announcement was that Android TV now has 3,600 apps and games. Google said when they first launched Android TV it only had support for 20-something apps. Now a few years later Android TV has over 3,000 apps.
Google Assistant is rolling out in more countries this year including the UK, France, Korea, Japan, and Canada. Look for more Google Assistant announcements in the months to come.
It was also announced that Google has simplified the Android TV Quick Setup process. Now you can use your Android phone or tablet as a way to quickly login and setup your Android TV device. Using non-Android devices has also been made faster with an easier login on browsers for quicker Android TV setup of a new Android TV device.
This new auto setup will now also auto install Android TV apps that you already have on an existing Android TV device, which is similar to how Google lets you move all your apps from one Android phone to a new one.
Google also officially announced autofill on Android TV allowing you to save your username and password and auto enter them into your Android TV apps. This works just like on your Android device or Chrome browser allowing you to easily save usernames and passwords. This option first rolled out a few months ago but now Google officially announced it at the Google I/O.
There you go. That is everything Google announced about Android TV at the Google I/O 2018.
