HDHomeRun Just Launched an Official Roku Channel

Earlier today we reported that SiliconDust the parent company behind HDHomeRun was working on a Roku Channel. Now SiliconDust just officially released an HDHomeRun beta Roku Channel that you can install and test out. This will let you stream your antenna from your HDHomeRun box to your Roku.

“Today, we are excited to announce, after years of requests, the first step in HDHomeRun support for Roku. We need to start out by saying this is very much a Beta product. It does not do many of the things you expect from a traditional HDHomeRun app. And because of that, we’ve decided to give it a new name “HDHomeRun OTA Live.” Nate Betzen said in a post on SiliconDust’s website.

There are a few limitations including that this HDHomeRun Roku Channel only works on the Roku Players and Roku TVs with Roku OS 9. Also, this is a beta channel meant to help test out the channel before it goes into the Roku Channel Store.

How to add the HDHomeRun Roku Channel to your Roku:

You will also need to manually add the HDHomeRun Roku Channel. To add the HDHomeRun Roku Channel to your Roku you first need to go to https://my.roku.com/ and click on the “Add Channel With a Code” option about halfway down the page. Once there you will need to enter the code N6MN9QC and select the add channel button.

Note: You must also have Roku OS 9.0 installed on your Roku. (Most Roku TVs and all Roku Ultras should have this update now.)
