HBO Max Won’t Be Available on Amazon Fire Devices at Launch

In an investor meeting this morning, AT&T’s future new CEO John Stankey shared an optimistic outlook for the company’s upcoming streaming service, HBO Max. While discussing the new service, Stankey shared that HBO Max will broadly available on streaming devices and distributed through streaming services, with the exception of Amazon.

“We’re going to be available across a broad cross-section of distributors. I think that will help with the momentum of the product coming out the door,” Stankey said. “We’re going to be in virtually all app stores, with maybe one exception: It looks like we may not be in the Amazon Fire app store, when all is said and done. But we feel really good about the distribution dynamic.”

The company has already announced distribution deals with several other platforms. The service will be available on Android Devices and Apple Devices including Apple TV 4K, as well as being available as an add-on for YouTube TV and Hulu subscribers.

HBO Max will launch on May 27 for $14.99/month. You can now pre-order HBO Max for instant access when the service launches, for $11.99/month for 12 months (a $3/month discount.)
