HBO Max Will be Available in Latin America in June

One year after HBO Max launched in the U.S., the streaming service now announced its expansion coming next month. HBO Max will be available in 39 territories in Latin America and the Caribbean beginning June 29, 2021. The launch will bring HBO Max’s collection of WarnerMedia titles, slate of original series and movies, Max Originals, plus live sports in Brazil and Mexico.

“Our launch in Latin America and the Caribbean is the first step in our global rollout of HBO Max. We are thrilled that fans across the region will soon be able to enjoy HBO Max and its amazing collection of content. WarnerMedia is one of the most popular and trusted sources of entertainment across Latin America, and we are very excited that our global journey starts here,” commented Johannes Larcher, Head of HBO Max International.

Two subscription plans will be offered – a Standard plan that allows multiple streams and user profiles, and the Mobile plan designed as a personal viewing experience only supported on smartphones and tablets. Monthly plans start at just $3 USD a month and will offer a 7-day free trial.

The HBO Max catalog will look a little different from the streamer’s U.S. offering. WarnerMedia films will be available 35 days after their theatrical release instead of same day, and there will be new local original titles produced in the region, including competition show Pop Divas, documentary series PCC Secret Power, and more.

The platform will also be available through partners like AT&T Mexico, a leading mobile operator in Mexico, and regional partners such as DIRECTV Latin America, SKY Brasil and DIRECTV GO, and Grupo América Móvil which will offer HBO Max to their subscribers.
