WarnerMedia’s Upfront event proved to be pretty eventful, especially for fans waiting on new details about upcoming reboots and reunions. The company dropped the first-look trailer for Friends: The Reunion coming May 27 on HBO Max. WarnerMedia also announced some celebrations leading up to the release, including an exclusive reunion screening for select guests and superfans on May 26. The experience will include tailored pre-show entertainment and outdoor screenings before its HBO Max debut in two iconic locations: The Greens at Pier 17 in New York City, NY, and at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. Fans will have the opportunity to attend through a #SuperFriendsFan UGC sweepstakes.

And Just Like That…

The company also revealed Sara Ramírez will star as a recurring cast member of the Max Original Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That… alongside previously announced returning cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Ramirez will be familiar to fans from other notable work including her decade-long role as Dr. Callie Torres on Grey’s Anatomy.

Sara Ramírez stars as “Che Diaz” (they / them), a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian that hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured.

The Max Original And Just Like That…, the new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series “Sex and the City,” follows “Carrie” (Sarah Jessica Parker), “Miranda” (Cynthia Nixon) and “Charlotte” (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s. The ten-episode, half-hour series is scheduled to begin production in New York this summer.
