HBO Max Renews ‘The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo” for a Second Season

Elmo is heading back to your screens this fall with HBO Max’s The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo confirmed for season 2. Production is already underway in New York, while no exact release date has been announced.

The nighttime kid’s variety show will feature Elmo back as host, with Cookie Monster as cohost and the Muppets pitching in as crew. Season 2 will feature a new lineup of celebrity guests on each of its episodes with new performances, more interactive games, and a whole new look, according to the press release.

“We’re thrilled to continue creating new Sesame Street adventures with HBO Max, giving children and families new ways to explore the neighborhood they love,” said Ed Wells, Sesame Workshop’s EVP and Head of Global Media and Education. “This season of The Not-Too-Late Show is packed with all new ways to learn and play together; we can’t wait for kids and families to experience it.”

Some of the guests featured on Season 1 include recognizable names like Jimmy Fallon, Kacey Musgraves, The Jonas Brothers, Blake Lively, Jonathan van Ness, H.E.R., Ciara, Dan + Shay, Jason Sudeikis, Ben Platt, and more.

“Elmo is one of the most beloved characters in the world, and we are so lucky we get to hang out with him on HBO Max,” said Amy Friedman, Head of Kids and Family Programming, Warner Bros. “We think everyone, especially our preschool audience, will be delighted with this reimagined second season – it’s the ultimate family playdate.”
