Starting today, HBO Max is available on PlayStation 5. PlayStation users in the US can now subscribe to the app to start streaming.
HBO Max has over 10,000 hours of content from HBO , Warner Bros., DC, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies, and more. The service also has a collection of HBO Max Originals including The Flight Attendant, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Reunion, and Super Intelligence.
The move to make HBO Max available on PlayStation 5 comes just in time for PS users to tune in for Wonder Woman 1984. The film will be available on HBO Max on Christmas day, the same day it premieres in theaters. Wonder Woman 1984 will be the first film in 4K on HBO Max, with more titles premiering in 4K in 2021. Additionally, in 2021, each film in Warner Bros. slate will debut on HBO Max in the U.S. concurrently with its theatrical release and will be available to stream exclusively for one month.
HBO Max removed its free trial earlier this month for those subscribing directly through the HBO Max website or app. Those who subscribe to HBO Max as an add-on to services including Hulu with Live, YouTube TV, and Amazon Prime Video Channels will still be able to get a 7 day free trial. A subscription to the streaming service costs $14.99/month.
