But there is hope, and Hallmark has clearly said it plans to look at non-traditional pay-TV services.
Recently in a statement to Cablefax Hallmark Channel said, ““We want to be supportive of the ecosystem, and I think the Hallmark Drama launch supports that. At the same time though, we don’t have our heads buried in the sand and we recognize that consumers and viewers are watching entertainment a different way. We are trying to appeal to the Hallmark entertainment enthusiast where they may not be consumers of linear television… That will also be unique content though that will not be duplicated across the other three channels.”
For now, though we will have to wait and see who will be first to offer the Hallmark Channel’s new Drama Channel.
Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, and fuboTV all offer the Hallmark Channel, so hopefully they will add the new Hallmark Drama Channel. If you want to see it added to the service you subscribe to, send them a note let them know.
