The Cheapest Way
If you want the least expensive way to watch the college football playoffs check out Sling TV. For just $20 a month you can watch ESPN and ESPN 2 along with 20 other channels. There is no contract so you can cancel at any time. Not only is it the least expensive way, but Sling TV is available on a wide range of devices. Just be aware that you are limited to one stream per account for ESPN. For an extra $5 you can get ESPNU, ESPN News, and the SEC Network to help catch all the games this bowl season.
Sling TV does have a new DVR but it is currently in a closed beta. If you want to watch a replay just use your Sling TV login to access WatchESPN. There you can watch a full replay of the games anytime.
Options With a Full DVR
If you want to pause or rewind the game for an instant replay the PlayStation Vue is what you want. Starting at $30 a month ($40 a month in some markets) you can get ESPN 1 and ESPN2 and have access to a DVR.
Other Options
If you want a ton of channels for a low price DIRECTV NOW has a $35 a month deal for 100 channels. (Note this deal has now ended.) This is a short-lived deal but is one more option to watch bowl season and the college football playoffs.
