Gray Television’s InvestigateTV+ Launches in Spanish in February As a Free OTA TV Channel

Gray Television has two shows building off its news program InvestigateTV+ that will bring Spanish news content to dozens of new markets throughout the U.S.

InvestigateTV+ en Español will be available weekdays in 26 markets starting February 26, while InvestigateTV en Español will air on weekends starting March 2. Theier English counterpart already airs in 113 markets across the U.S., but the new format will extend its reach to bilingual audiences.

InvestigateTV+ en Español will air on weekday mornings with host Luis Carlos Mendoza, the news anchor of Noticiero Telemundo 20 in Odessa-Midland, Texas. Susan Sim Oh, vice president of strategy and operations for Telemundo Station Group, describes him as offering an “unsurpassable level of professionalism and a heart for the community.”

The show offers in-depth analysis of current events, investigative news, and inspirational stories in Spanish.

“Premium in-depth investigations and reports are essential yet are not widely available for the Hispanic community in the U.S.,” said Juan Toro, executive producer for InvestigateTV+ en Español. “For Gray to be able to make this content in Spanish is both important and needed.”

Gray Television is one of the largest broadcasters, and its stations reach 36% of the U.S. In 2022, the company partnered with Telemundo to expand in 34 underserved Hispanic markets. This grew Gray Television’s reach to an additional 3.75 million out of the estimated 40.5 million Spanish speakers in the U.S., as tallied by World Population Review.

“An essential part of Gray’s mission is investigative journalism, and it is our goal for everyone to see it,” said Lee Zurik, vice president of investigations at Gray Television. “Whether a viewer speaks Spanish or English, we want to give viewers the opportunity to see, learn, and react from these stories.”

InvestigateTV debuted as a weekend show in 2018, and by 2022, it expanded to weekdays with InvestigateTV+. The program features a team of investigative journalists who provide local news coverage across the country. In January, the program won the duPont-Columbia Award for outstanding audio and video reporting. On March 2, InvestigateTV en Español will launch on weekends.

InvestigateTV+ en Español and InvestigateTV en Español will air in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Visit InvestigateTV+ to find where to watch in your area.
