Google Wifi Update Improves Slow Internet Connections

Google is rolling out a software update that will make Google Wifi and Nest Wifi work more smoothly by improving overall network performance for slow internet connections. Those with Google or Nest Wifi should see fewer disruptions in service as the update is rolled out.

In a blog post Tuesday, Google outlined some specific changes that will come with the update, including a better connection when using the network for multiple tasks simultaneously. The update will also include general security and stability improvements, better device connection speeds for wireless, and optimizations for faster movement to Wifi radio channels. Google is also improving its priority device feature, helping to ensure that your most important devices are prioritized on Wifi over less important tasks. “This means you can make sure your work laptop is getting the strongest Wi-Fi available, as opposed to the kids’ YouTube sessions,” the post explains.

The update will be rolled out to devices automatically, with no action required from users.
