Google TV Teams Up With Tubi, Plex, & Haystack News To Offer Over 800 Free Live TV Channels

Today Google TV announced a partnership with Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News to offer over 800 live channels for free built into Google TV. With this move, Google TV is becoming a major player in the work of free ad-supported live TV streaming.

Now on your Google TV home screen, you will find an improved Google TV Live tab. In there you will now find over 800 live channels for free on Google TV. These channels will come from deals Google reached with Tubi, Plex, and Haystack News.

“We’re also launching free built-in channels from Google TV that you can watch without even downloading or launching an app.  In total, you can now browse over 800 channels and premium programming, including news channels from NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX.” You’ll also find channels from around the world, with programming in more than 10 languages including Spanish, Hindi and Japanese.” Google said in a statement sent to cord cutters news.

You will find this new experience on the Chromecast with Google TV along with TVs that run Google TV from Sony, TCL, Hisense, and Philips. Android TV users will get this new update later this year on eligible devices.

There is no word on what Android TV devices will be eligible for this update.
